Interior and Technology
The interior styling is modern, with the primary controls and infotainment system slightly tilted towards the driver. At the centre console is a tall shift lever for the automatic transmission. The standard features for the Hornet GT and the R/T include black upholstery and red stitching. The 2023 Dodge Hornet is available in either leather, faux-suede, or the optional red leather interior. The Hornet offers a 12.3-inch digital driver display and a 10.25-inch infotainment system display powered by the latest Uconnect 5 system. The system pairs seamlessly with a smartphone through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Other standard features on the GT and R/T include a 14-speaker Harman Kardon audio system. This premium sound system comes with a subwoofer. Some standard driver-assistance features include automated emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and adaptive cruise control. The optional Tech Pack in the Hornet features speed sign recognition, lane-centring assistance, and a stop-and-go functionality.
Exterior Styling
Dodge included its traditional mail slot grille and integrated heat extractors on the front end of the Hornet to complement its muscular fascia. Both trims have sleek headlights, a full-width light bar, and LED daytime running lights. Other outstanding exterior touches include the backlit Dodge Rhombi logo and the Hornet badge on the fender. The side panels and styling are upscale with the 17-inch standard wheel size on the GT and 18-inch graphite alloys on the R/T trim. The Dodge Hornet also features a Blacktop Package, including 18-inch Abyss alloy wheels, gloss black badging, painted daylight opening moulding, and mirror caps. The Track Pack boosts the aesthetics and performance impact along with 20-inch rims.
Powertrain and Performance
The 2023 Hornet GT trim has a turbocharged 2.0-litre engine, a nine-speed automatic transmission, and a power output of 268 horsepower. The R/T model is the first plug-in hybrid by Dodge, with a combination of a turbocharged 1.3-litre engine and an electric motor that deliver 288 horsepower. This vehicle has a six-speed automatic transmission with the standard all-wheel-drive system. Pulling both paddle shifters allows you to activate PowerShot, which temporarily boosts output by 25 horsepower. The all-electric driving range is about 50 kilometres , and the battery takes 2.5 hours to charge using a level two charging system.
